Carol Shelley became a board member of Ponybird in 1989. She currently serves on the Development and Medical Committees.
Carol is the Executive Assistant to the Global Business Leader, Health Division of DuPont Nutrition & Health. She received her Chancellor’s Certificate in Business Applications from the University of Missouri – St. Louis in 2003. She served as an Alderwoman for the City of Pevely for six years, and was the Joachim Township Committeewoman for Jefferson County for six years. She was appointed by Governor Holden to be a member of the Child Abuse and Neglect Review Board for the State of Missouri and served for four years.
Carol’s family includes husband David, a son Jacob (Air Traffic Controller), daughter-in-law Sarah and welcomed their first grandchild in May; a little girl named Hadleigh Caren. They reside in Manassas, VA. Her son Nathan, has called PonyBird home since 1998.
Carol’s personal vision for PonyBird is: “Residents continue to receive the exceptional care and educational needs they require to lead a normal, productive life. This means treating them with respect and dignity. I also envision our residents to be integrated into the community as much as possible, which educates our community as well.”
